If you have just started flossing, you might have noticed some bleeding from certain areas of your gums. People ususally get alarmed by this and stop flossing. Has this happened to you as well?
Gums bleed when they are inflamed because of presence of plaque and bacteria. Flossing removes this plaque and bacteria. So when you start flossing your gums were inflamed and hence they bleed. If you continue flossing properly for sometime (Say 1 week), yuour gums will heal and the bleeding will stop
The trick is to continue flossing. And yes, warm saline rinses will help too.
Happy Flossing!
